Not too long ago we always went out to dine at the same restaurant every week and that was only because we liked the garlic bread there. Today however that is a thing of the past because I know how to make garlic bread and love to experiment in order to enhance its already yummy taste.

If you would also like to make garlic bread at home, here are a few recipes.

Grilled or Baked Garlic Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • A loaf of French bread
  • A large clove of garlic (crushed)
  • ½ a cup of butter
  • Some chopped fresh parsley (optional)

How to Make It

First cut the bread into slices, ensuring that you do not cut the bottom crust. Next combine the soft butter and garlic and spread the mixture between the slices as well as the top of the loaf. Once that is done, you can sprinkle chopped fresh parsley.

Now take some heavy-duty foil and wrap the loaf in it. Then place the loaf on grill over medium coals or put it in an oven set to 350 degrees. Keep it there until heated through, that is about 15 minutes.

Garlic Bread with Herbs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of Swiss cheese
  • Some freshly ground pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon of oregano (crumbled)
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 lg. of garlic cloves (flattened)
  • 6, ¾ inch slices of sour dough French bread

How to Make It

First take a small saucepan and cook the olive oil and garlic in it until the garlic turns golden brown. Then remove the pan from the heat and discard the garlic. Now add the oregano and pepper flakes to the oil.

Once that is done, preheat the broiler and broil 1 side of the bread until it turns golden brown. Now turn and brush the second side with the olive oil mixture. Then add the cheese slice and sprinkle it with pepper and serve hot.

Cheese Garlic Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 to 1/3 cups of feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 1 garlic clove (pressed)
  • 1 to ¼ cups of parmesan-reggiano cheese (divided and grated)
  • ½ a cup of monterrey jack cheese (grated)
  • ½ a cup of scallions (finely chopped)
  • 12, ¾ inch thick slices of ciabatta bread or plain rustique bread

How to Make It

First put the rack in the center of the oven and then preheat the oven to 475 degrees. Next mix the butter, garlic and mayonnaise together in a medium sized bowl. Then mix the feta cheese along with ½ a cup of parmesan cheese, monterrey jack cheese and scallions.

Once that is done, spread two tablespoons of the cheese mixture on each slice of bread and then top each slice with 1 tablespoon of Parmesan. Now press it slightly so that it adheres. You can also sprinkle the slices with salt and pepper, if you want. Once that is done, place the slices onto a baking sheet and bake then until the cheese is golden and bubbly. It should take approximately 12 to 15 minutes to happen.
