At my height, I often find everything around me very tall. But jokes apart, the information here talks about the tallest, certainly not from my perspective, but from the perspective and records of people who collect information about the tallest from around the world.

World's Tallest Man

Bao Xishun from China holds the Guinness World Record for the world's tallest man. Boa was born in 1951 and is a herdsman from Inner Mongolia, China. He is 7 feet 8.95 inches tall!

World's Tallest Woman

The world's tallest woman was Sandy Allen as listed in the Guinness World Records. She was 7 feet, 7 ¼ inches tall. She passed away on August 13, 2008 at the age of 53.

World's Tallest Actors

  • Matthew McGrory: Was the tallest actor at 7 feet 6 inches.
  • Tim Robbins: The tallest academy winning actor. He stands tall at 6 feet 5 inches.
  • James Cromwell: Is the world's tallest academy award nominated actor at 6 feet 7 inches.
  • Brad Garrett: Is the tallest current TV actor who stands tall at 6 feet 8 ½ inches.
  • Tamara Dobson: It has been recorded that she was the tallest actress to play lead roles. She was 6 feet 2 inches tall.

World's Tallest Dog

The world's tallest dog is a Great Dane in Sacramento, California called Gibson. Gibson stands at a height of 7 feet when upright.

World's Tallest Tree

According to Guinness World Records the world's tallest living tree is the Mendocino tree, a coast redwood tree that is found in the Montgomery State Reserve in California, USA. This tree was 112 m tall and had a diameter of 3.14 m when measured in September 1998.

World's Tallest Sandcastle

Camp Sunshine created the world's tallest sandcastle on September 1, 2008. Measuring 9.6 m, it was created at the Point Sebago Resort in Casco, Maine.

World's Tallest Rose Bush

It was on December 5, 2005, that Guinness World Records recorded the world's tallest rose bush. Measured at 4.03 m, this rose bush was found growing in Paul and Sharon Palumbo's garden in San Diego, California, USA.

World's Tallest Thermometer

It was in 1991 that the world's largest thermometer was erected in USA by a Baker businessman. Standing at 134 feet this thermometer records temperatures that are in excess of 100 degrees in the summers.

World's Tallest Hotel

The world's tallest hotel is the Burj al-Arab or Tower of the Arabs and is located in the Gulf Emirate of Dubai. Standing at 321 m, this hotel floats on a man-made island and has 202 suites. Each suite located at this hotel costs up to $15, 000 per night!

World's Tallest Bridge

The world's tallest bridge is the Millau Bridge which is located over the River Tarn in the Massif Central Mountains in Southern France. This bridge weighs about 36 tonnes and is 300 m tall, which is 23 m taller than the Eiffel tower.
