Acne is a common skin problem faced by many people, especially those ones who are young. Over the counter treatments or allopathic drugs can cause some serious problems to your skin and in fact make things worse than before. Ayurveda forms with two words, "Ayur" and "Veda". Ayur means life and Veda is science or knowledge. Ayurveda relies on ancient treatments and therapies with the use of natural herbal medicines only. OTC drugs or pharmaceutical medicines have no place in Ayurveda. The cure for acne is not merely dependent upon the use of medicines but an overall natural healing therapy. So, if you are determined to get rid of acne, you should follow a disciplined approach towards it. The use of Ayurveda has no side-effects whatsoever and your skin would not be harmed anyway since Ayurveda relies on herbal medicines only. Following are some of the factors that would help you treat your problem once forever.

Eating Habits

If you are really serious about treating your acne, get ready to sacrifice pizzas, burgers and any other fried stuff; I know you may miss KFC and McDonalds but you have to resist your temptation. Try to incorporate fresh leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet and make sure you cut down on meat. Deep sea fish may prove beneficial for your skin, so you can include those in your diet as well. Also, make sure that you drink at least 7-8 glasses of water daily. Drinking plentiful water would flush away bodily toxins and would help you stay clean. Remember, the reason acne erupt is because of wrong eating habits and if you curb this habit and stop eating junk food, it is surely going to help.

Yoga

Yoga can effectively help you to improve blood circulation and flush away body toxins. It is best advised that you seek a yoga expert and practice yoga for an hour a day. Yoga would not only help you with your skin problems but would also help you stay fit without much exertion. With Yoga, you would feel fresh and healthy each day. Along with Yoga, you can take a walk everyday in the morning. The high level of oxygen in the morning and the fresh air would bring the much desired glow on your face.

Ayurvedic Medicines

The best thing about ayurvedic medicines is that they can be easily prepared at your home and you need not blow your money on expensive OTC medicines. But, I must warn, before going for an ayurvedic routine, make sure that you scrap all your allopathic medicines right away. Start clean with ayurveda and be patient. Ayurvedic treatments is slow but it will help you get rid of your acne and skin problems once forever, ayurveda would surely hit the root cause of acne hard and make sure that they do not creep in again. Here are some simple herbal home remedies for acne that you can opt for:

  • Prepare cucumber juice and mix some aloe vera. Apply this lotion in the mornings after bath and before going to bed.
  • Mix turmeric powder, lemon juice and honey and apply this thrice every week for 15-30 minutes and wash it off. Make sure that you don't use a soap to wash off your face. Try to use luke warm water to wash your face and make sure you don't wipe your face with towel, instead your cotton or clean cloth and dab to get rid of the water.
  • Mix two spoons of honey and 1 lime in a glass of water and drink it each morning. This would help flush away body toxins and keep your system clean.
  • Prepare a mixture of cumin seeds, gram flour, turmeric powder and cucumber juice and apply it once or twice a week and leave it for 20 minutes and then wash off your face.

Apart from this, make sure you get adequate sleep of at least 6-8 hours a day and that you sleep on time and wake up on time. Having a good diet regime, exercises routine and basic herbal treatment would guarantee you that you are free from your acne and other skin problems such as acne scars within a month and that your skin would always have a glow that you always wanted.
